Warren City Council Finance Committee Meeting - The Finance Committee of Warren City Council will meet at 3pm in the City Council Caucus room at the Municipal Justice Building (141 South St. SE).  The committee will review the agenda for Wednesday's City Council meeting.

3rd Ward Meeting - 3rd Ward Councilperson John Homlitas will hold his monthly sidewalk office hours beginning at 9am on the corners of Woodland and Kenilworth NE.  Homlitas extends and invitation to all residents of the 3rd Ward to attend and share any thoughts, questions or concerns that they may have.

Warren City Council Public Utilities Committee Meeting - The Public Utilities Committee of Warren City Council will meet at 6pm in the City Council Caucus room at the Municipal Justice Building (141 South St. SE).  The committee will discuss the city's contract with Time Warner Cable.

Warren City Council Legislative Committee Meeting - The Legislative Committee of Warren City Council will meet at 4pm in the City Council Caucus room at the Municipal Justice Building (141 South St. SE).  The committee will discuss management positions and qualifications to put into city ordinances and draft 2039. an objection to liquor permit renewal at Fiesta (999 Mahoning Ave.)

Warren City Council Avalon South Special Committee Meeting - The Avalon South Special Committee of Warren City Council will meet at 4pm in the City Council Caucus room at the Municipal Justice Building (141 South St. SE).  The committee will discuss the ongoing litigation between the coty and the golf course operator.

 

Saturday, November 2

Warren Firemen Calendar Signing - Warren Firemen will be at North Perk Coffee House and Deli (176 North Park Ave) from 11:30-1:30 to sign copies of the Warren Firemen's Calendar.  The calendar is available for sale at North Perk and all proceeds go to local charities.  Stop into North Perk and get your copy autographed, they also make a great gift!

Upton House Christmas Sale - The Upton House (380 Mahoning Ave. NW), will hold it's annual Victorian Christmas Sale from 9am to 4pm.  The sale will feature a wide variety of new and gently used Christmas items including artificial trees, vintage and new tree lights, wreaths, ornaments, linens and misc. Coffee House @ The Warren Library - From 6-8pm teens ages 13-18 are invited to attend a coffeehouse at the Warren Library (444 Mahoning Ave NW).  Teens are invited to talk poetry, listen to cool music and sip on some delicious java or tea in the Thomas Room of the library.  Participants are encouraged to being a poem that has in some way touched them.  The coffeehouse has no admission and reservations are not required.  For more information call 330-39-8807 ext 400

Warren Kiwanis Club Turkey Trot - The Warren Kiwanis Club will host its 24th annual Turkey Trot.  The 5 mile run and 2 mile walk/run will commence at 9:45am with registration beginning at 9am.  Both races start and finish at the Kent State Trumbull Campus with a registration fee of $15 dollars.  All proceeds from the race will go to charitable organizations.  Registration forms are available at the YMCA and the YWCA or by emailing race director Ted Rupe at Ted.Rupe@neomin.org.

ATSDR/OHIO DEPT OF HEALTH/OHIO EPA PUBLIC FORUM - The Warren Township "Our Lives Count Citizens Group" and the Warren Township Trustees will be holding an Urgent Public Meeting at the Johnson Community Center on Gillmer Road in Leavittsburg, Ohio on October 15, 2002 at 7:00 P.M.  The meeting topic will be the hydrogen sulfide problem that is affecting so many lives in our community.  State and federal officials representing ATSDR (Agency for Toxic Substance Disease Registry) from Atlanta, Georgia; the Ohio EPA; the Ohio Department of Health will be in attendance.
