communist. Terrorism and Iraq are two separate
issues the United States is dealing with at the
moment and President Bush has been saying they
have been tied in together from the beginning
which is not a proven fact. Just as the he
said there were weapons of mass destruction or
Iraq posed a serious threat to the security of
the United States, these are not facts just
excuses used by President Bush in his
justification for attacking Iraq. He also states
he wanted to bring democracy to Iraq, what gives
him the right to impose his ideas of a
government Iraq should be ruled by, other then
that we are the most powerful nation in the
world and want Iraq a democracy. Might does not
make right contrary to what Mr. Bush believes.
We attacked Iraq for no other reason then we
want to control their oil, the only reason that
makes any kind of senses. None of President
Bush’s reasons make sense if you look at the
facts and have any kind of common sense. I never
said no other Christian nation is being
attacked, I said there are many not being
attacked. I also didn’t say president Bush is
going to get rich, he already is a millionaire
many times over. I honestly believe the major
reason is we are going to eventually run out of
oil and the United States is the biggest users
of oil in the world and we want to make sure we
have an adequate supply in the years ahead and
not be brought to our knees by other nations,
which is in its own way commendable. I just
don’t think it is right, it is not our country
and not our oil. It is just like the way we
dealt with the American Indian, we wanted their
land and we took it and forced upon them our way
of life and we are going to take Iraqs oil or
have a say in where it goes and then force a
democracy on them which most do not want. The
British tried their rule and way of life on the
colonies and our forefathers rebelled, and at
that time the British were the most powerful

WASHINGTON, April 13 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Sen.
John Kerry has made public his 2003 income tax
returns, as he has for past 20 years.
In 2003, Sen. John Kerry had $395,000 in taxable
income and paid $90,575 in federal income taxes.
Kerry had $43,735 in charitable contributions.
President Bush paid $227,490 in federal income
taxes last year on taxable income of $727,083,
according to a summary of the president's
federal returns released Tuesday by the White
House.
Bush and his wife, Laura, listed as income his
presidential salary and the investment income
from trusts that hold their assets.
The Bushes' tax bill was slightly lower than the
previous year, when the First Couple paid
$268,719 in federal income taxes.

Democrat John Kerry to release the tax returns
of his mega-rich $525 million wife Teresa
yesterday after it was learned that Kerry once
said a politician who refuses to release tax
returns can't be trusted.
When his wealthy GOP Senate challenger balked at
releasing tax returns in 1990, Kerry demanded
that he "come clean" and made it a
central campaign issue, repeatedly asking:
"What is he hiding?"
At that time Kerry claimed a wealthy candidate
must release returns to prove he pays a fair
share in "a tax system that isn't fair and
lets the super-rich get off."
A GOP strategist zinged: "Now Mrs. Kerry is
subsidizing his lifestyle so it's fair to expect
to see her tax returns."
Kerry in 1995 married ketchup heiress Teresa
Heinz Kerry, worth an estimated $525 million
according to Forbes magazine.
The Kerrys file separate returns and Mrs. Kerry
says she won't disclose hers - which would make
her the only spouse in memory to balk.
In 1984, Democratic vice presidential nominee
Geraldine Ferraro, who also filed separately,
ultimately released five years of her husband's
returns.

Look at his & Cheney's tax returns! They are
in Iraq for the black gold, Texas style. Bush
can't "think" of any mistakes he may
have made? Give me a break! Iraq is the worst
posible scenerio in the book. Now he wants to
leave our soldiers over there for an extended 90
days. This isn't right, it isn't fair to the
families, & it will cause many to not
register in the military for their country. We
are becoming the world's poorest country, thanks
to Bush for sending our jobs out of the states.
We can't feed or house our own, but there is
always money for other countries. God have mercy
on us all if Bush isn't voted out in November.

WASHINGTON, April 15 (Xinhuanet) -- US Secretary
of State Colin Powell welcomed on Thursday
proposals made by UN Undersecretary-General
Lakhdar Brahimi about the establishment of an
Iraqi caretaker government before the June 30
deadline for the US-led coalition to return
sovereignty to Iraqis.
"I think they're very
sound recommendations," Powell said in
aninterview with the Canadian Broadcasting
Corporation.
"We'll have to study
them. We'll have to discuss them within the
United Nations, the Security Council, but they
also have to bediscussed within Iraq by the
members of the Governing Council and by leaders
in other parts of Iraq," the secretary
said.
Brahimi, who is in Iraq in
the capacity of special envoy for UNSecretary-General
Kofi Annan, said in Baghdad earlier Thursday
that an Iraqi caretaker government, comprising
of a prime minister,a president and two vice
presidents, could be set up ahead of the June 30
deadline for power handover.
"We are confident that
it will be possible to form such a government in
a timely manner, that is during the month of May

WASHINGTON John F. Kerry's tour of duty in
Vietnam, distinguished by Silver and Bronze
stars and the close-range killing of an enemy
fighter, is highlighted in his campaign ads and
cheered on the trail. Even the campaign of
President Bush, who did not see combat, hasn't
tried to make an issue of his opponent's service
record.
But as the presidential campaign heats up, some
Vietnam veterans are using the Internet and talk
radio to question the Democratic candidate's
military record. They complain that Kerry's
three Purple Hearts were for minor wounds and
that he left Vietnam more than six months ahead
of schedule under regulations permitting
thrice-wounded soldiers to depart early. A
review by the Globe of Kerry's war record in
preparation for a forthcoming book, "John
F. Kerry: The Complete Biography," found
that the young Navy officer acted heroically
under fire, in one case saving the life of an
Army lieutenant. But the examination also found
that Kerry's commanding officer at the time
questioned Kerry's first Purple Heart, which he
earned for a wound received just two weeks after
arriving in Vietnam.
"He had a little scratch on his forearm,
and he was holding a piece of shrapnel,"
recalled Kerry's commanding officer, Lieutenant
Commander Grant Hibbard. "People in the
office were saying, `I don't think we got any
fire,' and there is a guy holding a little piece
of shrapnel in his palm." Hibbard said he
couldn't be certain whether Kerry actually came
under fire on Dec. 2, 1968, the date in
questionand that is why he said he asked Kerry
questions about the matter.
But Kerry persisted and, to his own
"chagrin," Hibbard said, he dropped
the matter. "I do remember some questions,
some correspondence about it," Hibbard
said. "I finally said, `OK, if that's what
happened . . . do whatever you want.' After
that, I don't know what happened. Obviously, he
got it, I don't know how."
Kerry declined to talk to the Globe about the
issue during the preparation of the Kerry
biography. But his press secretary, Michael
Meehan, noted that the Navy concluded that Kerry
deserved the Purple Heart.

his campaign $6.4 Million by mortgaging a share
of a Boston home he jointly owns with his wife.
Teresa Heinz Kerry paid cash for the Beacon Hill
mansion in January 1995.
But according To Kerry's own 1994 senate
personal financial disclosure [signed May, 15,
1995], Kerry's own personal net worth was
somewhere between a negative $130,000 to
positive $34,995.
The current loan on the house carries an annual
interest payment of $200,000, records show, more
than Kerry's $158,000 Senate salary.
Kerry's campaign insists he intends to pay off
the 30-year mortgage himself.
"Sen. Kerry is a man who has considerable
assets," spokesman Michael Meehan explains.
But Kerry's own financial disclosures show no
assets sufficient to pay the loan -- or even a
way to keep up with the interest payments!

I know it is a good thing to have the FBI in
town to sort out the criminals and clean Warren
up, but there is something you should know. The
Agents that we have here now are more crooked
than any of their targets. [Name del] is a
criminal as well as "I wear my pants up to
my breasts" [Name del]. I think we DO need
some kind of oversight to filter out the crimes
taking place, but the personnel we have here now
is only going to cause problems. They go after
people due to personal vendettas and have not
facilitated investigations on the people who are
breaking the law. Right now, the FBI is just as
crooked, or more so, then the people they are
investigating. But this is just my opinion.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - While struggling
unsuccessfully this week to think of a single
mistake he has made since the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks, President Bush committed three factual
errors about weapons finds in Libya, the White
House said on Wednesday.
Bush, long known for his grammatical conundrums
and confusing phraseology, told reporters twice
during Tuesday's prime-time news conference that
50 tons of mustard gas were discovered at a
turkey farm in Libya.
On the second occasion, he was responding to a
reporter who asked him to identify the biggest
mistake he had made since the 2001 attacks on
New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000
people and prompted the invasions of Iraq and
Afghanistan.
He could not. But as he searched for an answer,
the Republican president reaffirmed his decision
to invade Iraq and said weapons of mass
destruction may still lie hidden there.
"They could still be there. They could be
hidden, like the 50 tons of mustard gas in a
turkey farm," said Bush, referring to
Libya's voluntary disclosure of weapons in
March.
The next day, the White House said the accurate
figure for the Libyan mustard gas was 23.6
metric tons, or 26 short tons, not 50 tons.
Moreover, the substance was found at different
locations across Libya, not at a turkey farm.
And observers did not find mustard gas on the
farm at all, but rather unfilled chemical
munitions, the White House acknowledged.
"The president misspoke and we just want to
correct the record," explained White House
spokesman Scott McClellan.
Reports on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq,
which Bush cited as justification for the March
2003 invasion, have proved to be a political
mine field for the president.
Bush agreed under pressure to set up a
commission to investigate prewar weapons
intelligence failures early this year, just as
his 2004 reelection campaign got under way.
His decision came after a Bush claim that Iraq
had sought uranium from Niger was shown to be
based on forged documents. Other assertions of
weapons stashes, including some made by Iraqis
intent on persuading Washington to invade their
homeland to oust Saddam Hussein, were also found
to be wrong.

janitors. I agree with you, we should make the
inmates work off or pay off the debt they incur
while being incarcerated, but not at the expense
of the people working for the County or City. An
accepted level of employment could be detirmined
by the Administrators and Unions any other way
would leave room for abuse.We have to keep an
open mind in dealing with the cost of
incarsaration and this might help alleviate some
of the problems with budget shortfalls that both
the county and city are encountering. .The
Administrators and Unions have to work together
to find solutions to these problems so they can
provide adequate levels of safety and services
to the citizens who reside in the County and
City.It also could help reduce the amount of
crime being committed in our area, and it could
help reduce the workload for the people already
employed by our County and City governments.But
keep in mind we have to safeguard against abuse
by either the government or the unions.I would
recomend a citizens panel to monitor all
decisions made and mediate conflicts that
occur.I am a unionist, I believe in strong
Unions. Unions help make our country great by
raising the standard of living and bringing
social issues to the forefront and if you look
at past history as the union goes our standard
of living goes.

voted for the alternative to altiere, they may
have extra patrols. If I were a commissioner,
this sheriffs administration would not recieve
any money for callbacks until he laid of some oh
his averstaffed administration. As for making
offenders do the work of paid employees, maybe
we could train the offenders to book people into
the jail, run breathalizers, or chauffeur the
sherriff around. Why do you think that anyone
that is non-law enforcement is not important?
They have families, bills and children to raise
as well. Letting them do the work of laid off
employees is just putting them out of work and
potentially adding criminals. From what I have
been hearing, the northern part of the county
may solve the policing problems themselves by
forming a joint police district. This would take
the burden off of the county.

deal of introspection after all the questions
lately about his government's actions before the
Sept. 11 attacks and in Iraq, but not a whiff of
contrition. Bush was asked in his prime-time
news conference if he had made any mistakes.
"I'm sure something will pop into my head
here," he said Tuesday. It didn't.
Bush is rarely one to second-guess himself and
wasn't about to now, despite failures
highlighted in the government's pre-Sept. 11,
2001, intelligence operations, the futile search
for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and all
the recent violence there.
"I don't want to sound like I have made no
mistakes," he said Tuesday night. "I'm
confident I have."
But "maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I
should be in coming up with one."

has been hijacked by political shills -- men and
women eager to subordinate truth to partisan
advantage; who hold a transitory victory on
Election Day more dear than American victory in
the war on terror.
Tawdry ambition has eclipsed sacred duty; all
Americans are diminished, but none more than the
families of the 9/11 victims -- who expect
better from the commission, and certainly
deserve it.
Unless it is the thousands of young Americans
now under arms in Iraq and elsewhere; their
bravery and devotion to duty is inspirational.
How shameful that the commission attack dogs
hold their sacrifices so cheaply.
And John F. Kerry, who presumes to the
presidency, acquiesces. What a disgrace.
Yesterday, Democratic shills Richard Ben-Veniste
and Bob Kerrey hectored Attorney General John
Ashcroft. They implied he was a coward for
travelling on government aircraft at a time of
heightened pre-9/11 security - if not, in fact,
a scoundrel in possession of advance notice of
the attack.
Last week, it was National Security Advisor
Condoleezza Rice in the Democrats' dock; she was
a fool, a filibusterer, a liar.
"Isn't it a fact, Dr. Rice, that [President
Bush was] warned against possible attacks in
this country?" demanded Ben-Veniste.
Funny thing about that warning. Ben-Veniste was
speaking of the now-famous Aug. 6, 2001,
presidential daily briefing paper - suggesting
that it proved the White House had failed to
comprehend al Qaeda's threat to America.
Yesterday, it came out that someone had indeed
gotten it right.
George W. Bush, who had directed that the
briefing paper be prepared.
In a 13-page report titled "Threats and
Responses in 2001," the commission staff
paints a picture of alarm bells going off
throughout Washington in the months before 9/11
about an imminent "spectacular" terror
attack by Osama bin Laden.
But the intelligence reports all talked about
attacks occurring against targets overseas.
And the fevered reports, in the summer of 2001,
of possible threats "seemed to be focused
on Saudi Arabia, Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen
and possibly Rome, but the danger could be
anywhere . . . "
So the CIA prepared the Aug. 6 memo,
"summarizing its understanding of the
danger."
In sum: The briefing paper was written
specifically for the president in direct
response to an order from the president!
Obviously, the CIA's "understanding of the
danger" was deficient.
But it clearly was not "a fact" that
Bush was "warned against possible attacks
in this country."
It is clear, now, that the entire briefing-memo
"scandal" was sewn from whole cloth.
But will there be an apology from Ben-Veniste,
Kerrey & Co.?
Not a chance.
Why not.
Because, to the Democrats, the enemy is not just
al Qaeda.
It is also the George W. Bush White House.
So they cross the bounds of acceptable political
discourse, twisting the truth and bending the
facts to produce a product that will advance
their political ambitions.
To hell with the 9/11 families.
And to hell with eight young Americans reported
killed in action in Iraq just yesterday; to the
65 who died over the past week - and to the
hundreds who have laid down their lives for
peace and freedom since 9/11.
All to defeat Bush.
John Kerry could shut it down in a heartbeat,
simply by saying: "Stop it!"
Kerry needs to do just that. He must state the
obvious: that 9/11 was the work of Islamist
fanatics, and that the danger will not have
passed until those who make war on America are
either killed or in captivity.
It is simply disgraceful that he hasn't already
done so.

placement of a newspaper ad calling for physical
retribution against Secretary of Defense Donald
Rumsfeld!
"We should put this S.O.B. up against a
wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and
pull the trigger," the ad reads.
The call-to-arms fundraising ad, placed by the
St. Petersburg Democratic Club in the current
issue of the GABBER, a local St. Petersburg
paper, asks readers to make an urgent donation
to the John Kerry campaign.
Club Vice President Edna McCall told the DRUDGE
REPORT Tuesday morning: "We want to get our
country back. In Iraq, we're in deep trouble. If
we don't try to get this situation cleared up,
we are finished."
When asked if the ad was a challenge to inflict
violence on Rumsfeld, McCall explained:
"'Pull the trigger' means let Rumsfeld know
where we stand, not to shoot him!"
"We are getting raped, and they are
planning to steal the election again."
McCall said her club is in direct contact with
John Kerry campaign.
"We're all working together."
The publisher of the GABBER says running the ad
with the passage "pull the trigger"
was a mistake that "slipped through"
during the editing of this week's edition.

not something that we would want to build our

downtown should be centered around that type of
establishment.

President Bush wants a foothold in the middle
east so the United States has a say in who gets
the oil and gets the profits.The United States
has had a plan for the middle east since
1999,its called Project for the New American
Century outlining this plan about the middle
east.If we are going to live in the world
community in peace, the we have to allow other
countries to govern themselve with whatever
leader they have use their resourses however
they want. We have no right to interfere just
because we do not see eye to eye with their
leader because he won't do what we want,
especially if they are no threat to our
nation.Iraq had a leader, and if they didn't
like him then they should have gotten rid of

Soldier from Dunn killed in Iraq
The Associated Press
The family of an Army sergeant who died in Iraq
this week was mourning over Easter weekend at
the house of the grandparents who raised him.
Sgt. 1st Class Marvin L. Miller, 38, of Dunn
died Wednesday in Balad when he was shot while
on traffic control duty. The Pentagon said the
shooting was still being investigated.
Some members of Miller's Harnett County family
were struggling to justify to themselves his
deployment to Iraq.
"Is it a good cause?" asked his
sister, Miriam Smith. "No, not really.
They're over there trying to help the people,
and they're steady killing them."
Miller's cousin, Felicia Smith of Raleigh, and
aunt, Annie Miller, concurred.
"It stinks," Annie Miller said.
"The president got us into something he
doesn't know how to get out of. It seems like
the more killing that goes on over there, the
more troops he's sending."
The family remembered an outgoing, friendly man
devoted to the Army and to his family.
"He loved to party, and he loved his
girls," Smith said.
Miller had two daughters and two sons with
Linnett Miller, his wife of 12 years.
The 18-year military veteran was assigned to the
Army's 1st Squadron, 4th U.S. Cavalry, 1st
Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
The family had been living in Germany for about
two years.
Miller's eldest child, Marvin Lee Miller Jr.,
said he no longer wants to follow his father's
footsteps and go into the Army after high
school.
"I was going into the military, but not no
more," he said on the porch of his father's
childhood home. "Not after this."
Funeral arrangements were not available
Saturday.
